Set In Stone – The Daniel Herbert Prize 2021

Set in Stone is a sculpture competition and exhibition that aims to celebrate traditional techniques and forms.

The competition in honour of Daniel Herbert, the skillful convict stonemason and stone carver, an artisan who created the amazing 186 carvings on the stunning historic Ross Bridge. Daniel’s work won him his freedom. Our artists’ work may win them a prize too!

In the spirit of the convicts, our artist’s have only used hand tools to create their works.

Prizes awarded by a judging panel and a People’s Choice award.

With works on display from novices to skilled sculptors, we recommend a visit to this public exhibition.

Venue: The Tasmanian Wool Centre Museum.

6 November – 5 December 2021.
