 The Ross Bakery Inn The Ross Bakery Inn, convict built in 1832 for John Dickinson, a free settler from Nottinghamshire in England. It is a classic Georgian house built of local sandstone and with a permanent listing on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. Originally named Sherwood Castle Inn, it served many years as a coaching inn. Accommodation is upstairs with three delightful bedrooms each with ensuite toilet and shower. A cosy guest lounge is located downstairs where complimentary tea, coffee and fresh bakery cakes are served. There are 3 bedrooms - 1 x Queen, 1 x Double, 1 x Single with two daybeds in the lounge, comfortably sleeping seven. Large country style kitchen with an electric stove, fridge, freezer and microwave. There is a split system reverse cycle air conditioning unit for heating and cooling. The cottage has 1 bathroom, laundry with a washing machine, digital TV and a DVD player. You have the cottage to yourself and you can explore the island of Tasmania, basing yourself in this old world which has its own pace. A Wee Stoatir has been uniquely restored with much of the original wooden floors retained. A large fireplace warms a cosy living room. Three double bedrooms, lounge, bathroom, and an elegant dining room adjoins the modern kitchen and laundry to ensure a blend of convenience. A minimum stay of two nights, however stay a week and get the seventh night free. Breakfast of cereals, yoghurt, breads, jams, milk, juices, tea/coffee are provided for an additional charge.
